Topic of our drama: Hidden Beauty

Story introduction:

Hidden Beauty is a twist on the Disney Classic Snow White. Snow’s beauty is far beyond skin deep. Her evil stepmother poisons her out of jealousy of Snow’s inner beauty. On a journey to save her life, Snow’s animal friends seek help from famous characters, such as the Avengers and Disney’s Frozen Elsa and Anna, to set on a journey to find a prince who will share true loves kiss. But a handsome prince just won’t do in this tale; the animals need to find something far more powerful...

Amongst the comedy, song and dance this play questions what beauty truly is and shows how it can be found in the most unlikely of places.

Comments by the adjudicators of the Hong Kong School Drama Festival 2015/16:

Performers achieved the team work. All of them were committed and the effort paid off. Makeup and costumes were fantastic and added lots of characters in the play. Special effects like music and lighting were amazing and contributed to the overall stage effect. Students could use a variety of pitch notes to illustrate the emotions of characters. Actors were encouraged to be bold when acting out what was believed in. There were some interesting actions showing the special features of each character. The mood of the piece was demonstrated by the suitable speaking pace. All actors worked very hard on stage and knew the position very well.
